FAMILY-BASED IMMIGRATION (GREEN CARDS)
If you have a relative who is a United States Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident they may be able to sponsor you for your permanent residency. There are several categories that are available to you depending on the qualifying relationship that exists with your relative. There are also many rules and processing time frames that apply to each category. The sponsoring U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident will need to demonstrate that they are financially capable of supporting you per the current poverty guidelines. Please contact our law firm to determine if you have a qualifying relationship which may lead to your green card.
The primary Family-Based Immigration (Green Card) categories to consider are:
Immediate Relatives: Spouse, Parents and Unmarried Children (under 21) of U.S. Citizens
First
: Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens
Second
: Spouse and Children, and Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Lawful Permanent Residents
Third
: Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens
Fourth
: Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens
